2025 POWERSPORTS MARKET INDUSTRY OVERVIEW
The Sportbike segment continues to be the standout performer in the Powersports marketplace, with values in 2025 significantly outperforming previous years. Both Cruiser and Sportbike segments displayed expected seasonal pricing trends, while side-by-side segments showed resilience with a notable second-half recovery.
Looking at motorcycles, values for the most recent 10 model years of Cruisers averaged 4.7% lower in September-October compared to July-August, but 7.3% higher year-over-year. Sportbikes averaged 1.6% lower in September-October compared to July-August, yet remained 8.7% higher year-over-year. In the side-by-side segment, the Utility segment averaged 1.8% higher in September-October compared to July-August and 5.4% higher year-over-year. The Sport segment averaged 2.9% lower September-over-July, but remained 1.5% higher year-over-year.
General economic uncertainty contributed to muted consumer web traffic in the first half of 2025, though interest recovered strongly in the second half. Cruisers maintained the highest consumer interest of all segments, while dealer interest in the Utility side-by-side segment increased throughout the year.
For the November-December period, Sportbike values averaged 4.6% lower edition-over-edition, yet remained 4.6% higher year-over-year. Cruiser values averaged 4.7% lower edition-over-edition but 5.8% higher year-over-year. In the side-by-side segments, Utility values were 3.1% lower edition-over-edition and 4.8% higher year-over-year, while Sport values declined 3.5% edition-over-edition with a modest 1.2% year-over-year gain.
Consumer spending on recreational goods and vehicles remained strong throughout 2025. With values holding steady or improving across most segments on a year-over-year basis, the market is well-positioned heading into the 2026 buying season.
